Forecasts and Assumptions
It should be kept in mind that these forecasts depend on current conditions remaining the same for the forecasts to be reasonably accurate. These assumptions are:
1) Ukraine’s military and financial aid remain the same or are improving over time.
2) Russia’s economic and military capacity remains the same over time. This includes equipment supply and an economy under sanctions.
3) The military strategy and tactics from Russia do not change over time.
If any of these do change then the forecasts will be less accurate.
One important note here, if there was some major change that gave Russia or Ukraine some advantage, the historical data would shift and we would see a change in trend of the forecasts.
Afterall, the most important foundation for this work is area taken per day in square kilometres. If Russia or Ukraine were to suddenly advance using more mobile warfare methods, then a shift would be seen in the numbers here and it will affect subsequent calculations and forecasts. Data will be affected even if no particular adjustments are made.
